Andy A. Salem, Jr.

    Andy Salem was born on July 8, 1930 and passed away on June 9, 2012 at his home in Arnold. He was 81.

    A mass was held July 14, 2012 at St Augustine's Catholic Church in Pleasanton.

   He is survived by his wife of 60 years Anne Salem of Arnold, children Steve (Sandy) Salem, Vince (Moya) Salem, Lisa (Charlie) Giolzetti, grandchildren Jeff, Michelle, Kyle, Brianni, and Brandon, great-grandchildren McKenzie, Ariana, and Mia, and sisters Jeanette Aldi and Clara Williams.

   He was preceded in death by sister Annette Horkan.

   Andy was born in New Haven, Connecticut to parents who had immigrated to the United States from Italy.

    When he was two years old the family moved to Southern California where he was raised.

    In 1952 he married and moved to the San Fernando Valley where he lived for many years. In 1975 he moved to Pleasanton where he lived until 2004, when he moved to Arnold to enjoy the mountains, which he loved.

    Andy enjoyed travelling, fishing, reading, helping others in times of need and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
