UPDATE: August 13, 2012 4:30 PM. We just drove up Hwy 4 and at the CalTrans sign in Murphys it says Hwy 4 is closed due to wildfire. We just received a Sheriff's report that they do not know when it will re-open.
CHP was notified around 12:45 PM that Hwy 4 needed to be closed down in both directions at Ganns Meadow due to the fire and smoke conditions.
CHP recommends controlled traffic through the fire area and they are enroute to the scene. The Hwy will not be closed down at this time.
