Mark Twain Health Care District Gets $800,000 of Our Tax Money

There have been a lot of criticisms this year about the Mark Twain Hospitals problems, and they were made public  by the 2012  Grand Jury report. The criticisms were mostly aimed at the Board of Directors. Now we have an election in November.

Colleen Smart, longtime Board member of the Mark Twain Health Care District Board decided not to run again, but her son Randy Smart, a local physician has file for her seat.
In addition Ken McInturf, incumbent Treasurer of the Board is being challenged by Jerry Lucas of Murphys, who is retired from a career in finance, and George Fry.
Fry has run for many different elective offices in recent years, failing to receive near enough votes in most of them. He now lives in Copperopolis.
