Threat turned over to Calaveras Sheriff

Earlier this morning, the Sentinel received a threatening comment
on the "Vacation Rental Tax a Fiasco" article.

After notifying Debbie Ponte and getting an e-mail back that she is out of e-mail range, we forwarded the threat to the Sheriff.

As we have said many times, we know that the Sheriff' does not enforce the laws when there are serious neighbor problems in Calaveras now, even when an arrest warrant is signed.

We are also personally aware that he refuses to turn over evidence he told this paper he has about a death threat the Sierra Sentinel received several months ago.

Why anyone would, therefore, believe that the Sheriff will suddenly start living at Lake Tulloch after another ordinance is passed is ridiculous.

The Sierra Sentinel takes threats to anyone seriously, and so should the Sheriff. That is not happening with Sheriff Gary Kuntz.

   We definitely need a change!!!
