According to CHP on May 5, 2014 at 1:45 AM Lyle Johnson (51) of San Andreas was driving a 1997 Toyota 4 Runner on Hwy 12 eastbound at approximately 55 MPH.
Per the report, Johnson fell asleep and allowed the Toyota to leave the paved portion of the roadway and subsequently collided with a tree near Hwy 26.
Mr. Johnson was transported by air ambulance to Doctors Hospital Modesto with major injuries.
