House fire in West Point

   UPDATE: Addition resources are being used to prevent fire from spreading any more into the forest. One watertender was ordered to return to base.

  UPDATE:  More resources are necessary for what they are now calling a fully engulfed residential fire in West Point. Several engines plus  water tenders are being dispatched. It is being called the Winton Incident.


September 16, 2015 at 6:30 AM:  A fully involved structure fire has been reported on Bummerville Road near Winton Road in West Point.

   It isn't clear if this is going to be part of the Butte Fire or a separate incident. Fire personnel are responding to the scene.

There are fire companies with multiple engines all over Angels Camp and San Andreas. Did no one think to station some in West Point given that the fire was headed that way?

Simple. There are no McDonalds in West Point.

It's not the firefighters faught. its higher level management who decides how many go where and what.

there are fire truks headed in every direction this morning. but hey, the air is so much more clear. blue sky and everything. too bad about the house.
