Superintendent of Schools Jeremy Meyers FINALLY arrested???Ties to Rite of Passage!!

UPDATE: El Dorado County Superintendent of Schools, Rite Of Passage educator, Superintendent of Sierra Ridge in San Andreas arrested?

We just received the most recent information
on this issue. Thank you for letting us know! No wonder the minors at ROP are as bad as they are!  They are apparently taught well!

Apparently El Dorado County Office of Education is in charge of education for inmate minors being housed in Calaveras County.

Meyers, it turns out, was arrested some months ago, and it was kept secret. It happens in our county too. An elected who gets pulled over or arrested can get away with no press for quite some time. Corruption, yes!

September 24, 2013:  Ross Thornton, who is a neighbor of the Rite of Passage at Fricot City, came to the Calaveras
Board of Supervsors meeting and spoke about the many problems neighbors are having there.

He indicated years of abuse of their conditional use permit, which is apparently still listed to Environmental Alternatives of San Andreas. They were the previous landowners.

Thornton told of 3 AM escapes, with occasional phone calls and ROP vehicles out searching at all hours.

He also told us that ROP has run out of water and that they are hauling a giant truck in several times a day from San Andreas, where they take water out of a hydrant.

Over the weekend we were told of a vehicle abandoned on Hwy 88 that CHP traced to the Calaveras ROP. Security staff there said it was taken without permission.

Two people were seen walking on Hwy 88 at the time the car was found. Later, a Nevada based employee told CHP he was coming to the scene.

How many violations have been recorded is hard to say. When we call Code Compliance, Robert Packinger tells us he isn't in charge of that and referred us to Planning, where there is a dead end.

Mr. Thornton says that when he went into Planning to ask what was going to be done about all the complaints (he has over 200 signatures), he was told that County Counsel has ordered them to say nothing and do nothing.

As strict as Planning is  with certain people, it's hard to believe, but there seems to be some bias regarding favorites in Calaveras County. This only adds to the corruption and cover-up belief of the public.

To say that Rite of Passage is a rich organization is putting it mildly. They take in around $7000 per inmate  per month and are paid by the State of California.

We could not find any of their vehicles with even a California license plate, (all Nevada) and apparently they do not pay any taxes.

If they aren't required to follow a Conditional Use Permit or any rules, then why is anyone. We plan to follow up on this problem and will call ROP for their input.

Does anyone remember how Supervisor Wilensky couldn't say enough good things about them? I think they must have politicians at the state level in their pockets.

The above link is the news feed revealing Jeremy Meyers, Superintendent for El Dorado County Office of Education was arrested for drunk driving (2x legal limit), the drug charges were dropped (prescription pills, without a prescription and narcotics). This is the Superintendent of the SIERRA RIDGE ACADEMY (EDCOE teaches all the ROP students), in SAN ANDREAS. Mr. Meyers got a great deal, 2k fine, 5 days in jail (which appears he didn't serve) and 4 yrs probation! Mr. Meyers even got to wait 2 months to be booked into custody so he could "fight this behind the scene", so parents, students, media, the public wouldn't know!! What power????? Can you do this, get your sentencing, jail time, media attention postponed??? I bet you.. NO WAY!

Its not only about thr road which they have ruined and residents of Calaveras are being sued to fix. Its that San Andreas residents paid for the water ( fire hydrant), oh and after they sucked out what was left of San Antone creek, by the way they had no rights to take that water from the creek. They are abusing, using, and stealing from calaveras residents, not the students the corporation is and has been since day one!!! The list is long and continues to grow, sewer ponds leak into near by creeks, the ponds aren't fence they pull out deer and other animals that have drown, our neighbors dog drown there, neighbors vehicles stolen, etc etc etc
