Currently emergency crews from the surrounding areas are responding to a serious vegetation fire off of Hwy 4 & Horseshoe Dr. in the Diamond XX area 3 miles north east of Copperopolis.  Spotter planes are on scene directing the fire fighting efforts.  With low humidity and higher winds fire crews and working feverishly to contain the fire.  The heavy smoke has made its way south down the Copper Valley Canyon and over lake Tulloch. Reports are coming in from Angels Camp that heavy smoke is present there also.
UPDATECAL Fire reports 13 engines and 2 helicopters are battling the flames on a 25 acre fire moving south.  No update as to how fast fire is spreading.  At 3:10pm the fire was still at 0% containment according to Cal Fire Reports.

UPDATE: CAL Fire reports 100 acres in flames and they have it 50% contained. Crews will continue to work through the night to contain the blaze.
