Lightning Stikes Golf Course

At a golf course near Foxwoods Casino in Connecticut yesterday, several employees were taken to the hospital with
reported burns after lightning struck near where they were working.
Although no direct strike was reported, the workers were attempting to remove standing water from the course to prepare for a tournament, and at least one collapsed after the strike.
Workers and those who play golf are often reminded to take shelter during thunderstorm activity for their own protection. Lightning, such as in the photo shown can be beautiful to watch from a safe and protected distance, but very dangerous out in the open.
