High Speed Accident on Hogan Dam Rd.

         According to the CHP, Thomas C. Land, 22, of Valley Springs, was driving a 2002 Corvette at an extremely high speed on Hogan Dam Rd. His passenger stated to CHP that he estimated the speed to be about of 100 MPH.

     Due to possible intoxication and high speed, Land was unable to negotiate a right hand curve, crossed the double yellow lines and left the pavement.

      The Corvette began to rotate, hitting a fencepost and a barbed wire fence, causing major injuries to the driver.

     The Corvette continued for more than 300 feet before coming to a stop. Land was medi flighted to Memorial Hospital in Modesto with life-threatening injuries. The passenger was not injured.
