CHP: Major injuries in Hwy 26 crash

According to CHP they responded to a report of a head-on collision on Hwy 26 near Sky High Drive in Mokelumne Hill at approximately 4:40 PM on June 30, 2017.

Ruby Ann Davis  (61) of West Point was driving a 2016 GMC Acadia eastbound on Hwy 26 at an unknown speed.

William Donald Noble was driving his Suzuki Samurai westbound on Hwy 26 at approximately 30 to 35 MPH.

For an unknown reason Mrs  Davis allowed her vehicle to travel into  the opposing lane where it collided head-on with r. Noble's Suzuki.

Both drivers sustained major injuries and were flown to Modesto for treatment. Hwy 26 was blocked for about 45 minutes before the roadway could be cleared.  Alcohol and or drugs are not considered to be a factor.

CHP thanks the numerous motorists who stopped to assist the injured until emergency personnel could arrive on scene.
