Angels Camp City Council Meets Tuesday June 19 at 6 PM

Which city councilperson
does this guy resemble?
On the regular agenda for Tuesday's Angels Camp City Council meeting is the Public Hearing on Ordinance # 452 to make debris burning unlawful without a City Permit. It will be most likely the last time the public will be allowed to make comments before they pass it against the citizens.
Also on the agenda is approving ordinance # 456 approving the changes in zoning that were introduced  at the last meeting. There were a few unhappy property owners who expressed their displeasure with the way the city is hurting their property values. It will be interesting to see who shows up this time.
Also, since the Governor has dissolved the Redevelopment agency statewide taking away the money, the City is adopting Resolution # 12-14 for dissolution of the City of Angels Camp Redevelopment Agency.  Concerned property owners can now relax until the next thing the City decides to try to do to our property.
The City is also adopting Resolution # 12-13 to establish a Master Fee Schedule, and everyone knows what that means, HIGHER FEES FOR EVERYTHING. This is the way the governments are trying to make up for lost property taxes, since property values dropped.
The Sentinel encourages citizens to get involved and pay attention to what your elected officials are doing. They are influenced by many bad ideas and if the citizens allow it, they will pass them and we are stuck.  Hpwever, there is an election in November.  How many will run for City Council?   Will you?
