Barry Zito came close to throwing his second shutout of the season today. The San Francisco Giants beat the Chicago Cubs for the third game in a row, 2-0.
Zito pitched like the ace he is, and came out after giving up a walk in the ninth. Sergio Romo came in to retire the last two batters and locked down his second save and SF's 6th win in 7 games.
Zito allowed four hits and and two walks altogether, and stuck out five. Romo appeared to be injured on the last play of the game and is being checked out.
