On December 1, 2017 around 6 PM a suspect fled a traffic stop and was later located on Sawyer Road in West Point.
Arrested and booked into the Calaveras County Jail was Lester Dias (32) of Escalon, for alleged Felony Reckless Driving to evade a police officer, Vehicle Theft (stolen out of Manteca), Possession of Burglary Tools, Possession of Methampetamine, Unlawful display of vehicle registration (two different plates on front and back of vehicle and Driving on a Suspended license.
Dias was also wanted on Warrants out of San Joaquin County for similar offenses. Bail in Calaveras County is $105,000.
