Alberta (Cry) Frances Castle Drace, Angels Camp native

   Alberta (Cry) Frances Castle Drace passed away on May 27, 2018 in Modesto at the age of 86.

   She was born on March 22, 1932 in Angels Camp to Guy and Dorthey Castle and graduated from Bret Harte High School.

   Alberta worked as a waitress for over 40 years in Sonora.   Many will remember her at the old Europa CafĂ© on Washington Street where she worked the morning shift in the 60's and 70's.

   In her younger years she loved bowling and playing softball. Her sons remember her cooking for all the neighborhood kids.

   In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband James Drace, son Larry Basacker and brothers Tommy and Howard Castle.

   Alberta is survived by her three sons; Brian and his wife Sue Basacker, Rick and his wife Teresa Basacker, Tom and his wife Susan Wood, three step-children; Susan Keller, Ginny, Madill and Jim (Cricket) Drace. She is also survived by her sister Mary Ann Buser and her husband Don, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

  Instead of flowers the family request that all memorials be made to the Tuolumne County Humane Society.

   Angels Memorial Chapel is handling all arrangments.
