Per CHP on September 16, 2017 at approximately 3:10 PM Christa Hayes (62) of Rio Vista was riding her 2016 Harley Davidson on Hwy 4, passing vehicles just outside Angels Camp.
Cathy Bennington (77) of Danville was driving a 2017 Jeep on Hwy 4 in the opposite direction when Hayes lost control of her Harley and crashed head-on into the Jeep near Stallion Way.
Hayes was taken to Sonora Regional Medical Center where she succumbed to her injuries. Alcohol and or drugs do not appear to be a factor in this collision.
