Andy Ballantyne of Valley Springs

   Andrew "Andy) Paul Ballantyne of Valley Springs passed away on March 20, 2014 at Doctors Hospital of heart failure. He was 83.


   A native of Youngstown, Ohio, he was born on September 28, 1930, the son of Andrew and Margaret Ballantyne.

   After graduating from high school, he was in the Korean Way and trained with the 101st Airbourne. He had been a 35 year employee of A T &T.

   He will be remembered at the General Manager of the Valley Springs Veterans Memorial District,
Head of Boys State, supporter of Boy Scouts, proud member of the American Legion and member of the VFW.

    Andy loved salmon and bass fishing, gold ining, donated time to Santas Helpers, and loved working for Veterans.

   He was predeceased by his wife Janet Elaine Ballantyne.

   He is survived by his children: Janet Ballantyne of Valley Springs, Robert Ballantyne of Ceres, Mike Ballantyne of Massillion, Ohio, Jill Ballantyne of Valley Springs; grandchildren Alan and Mitch Eutsler of Valley Springs, Katie Barton of Seattle, Washington and a sister Margaret Sykes of Glendale, Arizona.

   A Memorial Service will be held on March 26, 2014 officiated by Pastor Chuck of the Methodist Church at 3 PM at the American Legion Hall..

     Burial will take place on Thursday at 9 AM at the San Joaquin Valley National Cemetery in Gustine.

    In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Veterans Memorial District for the Vets Building.

   The family would like to thank Mark Twain Hospital and Convalescent , Mercy Hospital in Sacramento and Vintage Faire Convalescent and Doctors Hospital in Modesto. "Thank you to all of your staff. My Dad had wonderful care with all of you.

  

   San Andreas Memorial Chapel is in handling arrangements.
