James Hilger of Jackson


  On March 9, 2014 James Arthur Hilger, 11 year resident of Jackson, passed away at Kit Carson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Jackson.  He was 77.


   Born in Heber Springs, Arkansas on September 11, 2014, he was a retired Contra Costa County Deputy Sheriff.

   Mr. Hilger was a member of the retired Sheriff's Association and SIRS. His hobbies include golf, poker, travel, singing, guitar, piano, bowling and pool. James Hilger was a friend to all.

   He is survived by his wife Melinda Hilger of Jackson, children Kelli Fern Hilger of Antioch and Guy Dean Hilger of San Diego; grandchildren Erin Rene Watkins, Julisa Anne Maldonado and Stanley Watkins III of Antioch, Russell Lee Hilger of Clute Texas and Trevor Dean Hilger of Borego Springs; great-grandchildren Alexandra Verduzco and Christian Verduzco of Antioch and siblings Emogene Puckett of Bakersfield, Marvin Hilger of Lincoln and Maurice Pinion of Los Banos.
