Traffic Accident in Burson

   A traffic collision was reported to CHP at 5:28 PM on Southworth Rd at Hwy 12 in Burson. A lime green Subaru collided with another small vehicle.

   No injuries were reported. One vehicle is still in the eastbound lane.  CHP is enroute.

Council of Government Meeting

   Calaveras Council of Governments (the group that handles all CalTrans projects and monies), will meet on Wednesday April 3, 2013 at the Board of Supervisors Chamber in San Andreas.

   The meeting begins at 6:30 PM and has a number of items on the agenda. They are always intentionally list items very vaguely and make it difficult to say exactly what is going to be discussed.

Injured Pheasant at Comanche

   A member of a bird team at Comanche Hills Hunting Preserve is trying to find a wildlife  rescue.

   CHP referred her to 200 China Graveyard Road in Jackson, cross street is New York Ranch of Jackson gate.

Dead-ringer for Duchess Kate

   Heidi Agan is a 32 year old who recently quit her waitressing job, is a dead-ringer for the Duchess of Cambridge, Kate Middleton.

   In fact, she is now officially an impersonator of the Duchess, and is now trying to figure out how to look pregnant without actually becoming pregnant.

Traffic Hazard in Mokelumne Hill

     At 3:14 PM CHP was notified that there are boards in the Hwy at Hwy 26 and Hwy 49 in Mokelumne Hill.

   Use extra caution in that area until it is cleared.

    The US Environmental Protection Agency reported that high levels of contamination by fertilizers and shrinking ground

   The Sacramento City Council votes tonight on whether to fund a new basketball arena in the downtown area through parking revenue.

   Then the NBA on the 19th will decide whether the Kings are allowed to move to Seattle where they already have signed a contract, or to keep them in Sacramento.

Percentage of No Party Preference Voters Grows

   A report released by the California Secretary of State's office revealed that currently nearly 21% of the electorate is No Party Preference.

   People tell us that now they can change it online and never have to go to a polling place, so its a lot less hassle than it used to be.

   CHP is responding to a report of a quad vehicle collision at 11:55 AM of four cars on Black Creek Drive in Copperopolis. An ambulance has been dispatched due to injuries.

    A CHP unit is onscene for CalTrans work on Hwy 26 and the Campo Seco Turnpike today. Use extra caution in that area.

   Russ Allan Bond, Sr. (58) of Hathaway Pines, was arrested on March 2, 2013 at his residence

Illegal Shooting Reported in Arnold

   A resident on Saint Moritz Drive in Arnold reported on March 23, 2013 that they heard about 10 shots or cherry bombs in a row.

   The Calaveras Sheriff log indicates "No Report Taken".

Burglary Reported in Camp Connell

   The Calaveras Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Chumash in Camp Connell on March 23, 2013,  that a burglary had occurred.

   A deputy took the report but it is not indicated if there is a suspect.
  

Two dire animal calls to Sheriff

   On March 23, 2013 Calaveras Sheriff's Office received two very sad animal calls
